Effective Date: September 14, 2026
Last Updated: September 14, 2026
Funding Aspiring Career Training ("F.A.C.T.," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit vocational scholarship fund with Employer Identification Number (EIN) 87-0911768. This Donation and Refund Policy explains how F.A.C.T. accepts, uses, acknowledges, and, in limited circumstances, refunds donations.
1. Voluntary Donations
All donations to F.A.C.T. are voluntary charitable contributions. Donations may be made as one-time gifts through:
- F.A.C.T.'s online donation pages, which use Stripe as the payment processor; or
- Check mailed to:
Funding Aspiring Career Training
P.O. Box 1804
Mineola, NY 11501
F.A.C.T. does not require a donation to access its website, contact the organization, or apply for information about scholarship opportunities.
Unless F.A.C.T. expressly agrees otherwise in writing, donations are unrestricted gifts that F.A.C.T. may use to support its charitable mission and programs.
2. How Donations Are Used
F.A.C.T. uses donations to support young people pursuing vocational, trade-school, and career-focused training. Depending on organizational needs and applicable restrictions, donations may be used for:
- Vocational and trade-school scholarships;
- Tuition and enrollment assistance;
- Tools, equipment, books, uniforms, and other educational supplies;
- Student-support services related to vocational training; and
- Reasonable administrative and program expenses necessary to operate F.A.C.T.'s charitable programs.
F.A.C.T. will use donated funds in a manner consistent with its charitable purpose, donor intent, applicable law, and any restrictions that F.A.C.T. has accepted in writing.
3. If a Scholarship Cannot Be Awarded
F.A.C.T. cannot guarantee that a particular scholarship will be awarded to a particular student, school, program, or geographic area. Circumstances may change, including a student's eligibility, a training program's availability, funding levels, or applicable legal requirements.
If funds designated for a particular scholarship or purpose cannot be used as originally anticipated, F.A.C.T. may, to the extent permitted by law:
- Contact the donor, when reasonably practicable, to discuss an appropriate alternative;
- Apply the funds to a substantially similar scholarship, vocational-training, or student-support purpose consistent with the donor's intent; or
- Return the funds to the donor if required by law or if F.A.C.T. determines that returning the funds is appropriate and legally permissible.
F.A.C.T. cannot promise that funds will be returned merely because a particular student, school, program, or project does not proceed.
4. Refund Policy
Donations are generally non-refundable because F.A.C.T. begins planning and allocating charitable resources based on donations received.
F.A.C.T. may approve a refund in the following limited circumstances:
- A duplicate donation was submitted;
- A donation was made in error;
- An incorrect donation amount was processed;
- A transaction-processing error occurred;
- A donation was unauthorized or fraudulent; or
- A refund is otherwise required by applicable law.
Refund requests should be submitted as soon as reasonably practicable to info@factscholarship.org. The request should include the donor's name, donation date, donation amount, payment method, and the reason for the request. Donors should not send full payment-card numbers or other sensitive financial information by email.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method. The timing of a refund depends on the payment processor and the donor's financial institution. To the extent permitted by applicable law and disclosed by the payment processor, non-refundable third-party processing fees may affect the amount returned.
F.A.C.T. may request reasonable information to verify a refund request and prevent fraud or misuse. F.A.C.T. reserves the right to deny a refund request that does not fall within this policy or that cannot be reasonably verified.
5. Tax-Deductibility
F.A.C.T. is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, subject to applicable federal, state, and local law.
Donations to F.A.C.T. may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Tax deductibility depends on the donor's individual circumstances, the donor's tax status, applicable limitations, and whether the donor receives goods or services in exchange for the payment.
F.A.C.T. does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice. Donors should consult their own tax adviser regarding the deductibility and reporting of a donation.
Unless otherwise stated, F.A.C.T. does not provide goods or services in exchange for donations. If a payment includes a benefit, event admission, merchandise, or another good or service, only the portion exceeding the fair market value of that benefit may be deductible, subject to applicable law.
6. Donor Receipts and Acknowledgments
F.A.C.T. provides donation receipts or acknowledgments for donations made through its online donation system or by mail when sufficient donor contact information is available.
A receipt or acknowledgment may include:
- F.A.C.T.'s legal name;
- The donation date;
- The donation amount;
- The donor's name;
- F.A.C.T.'s EIN; and
- A statement regarding whether the donor received goods or services in exchange for the donation.
For charitable contributions of $250 or more, donors should retain F.A.C.T.'s written acknowledgment and other required records for tax purposes. F.A.C.T. will make reasonable efforts to provide written acknowledgments containing information required by applicable law.
Donors are responsible for determining the value of any donated property, maintaining appropriate records, and confirming their own tax-reporting obligations. F.A.C.T. does not assign a value to donated property and does not guarantee that a donation will be deductible.
If a donation is refunded or reversed, the donor is responsible for adjusting any tax deduction or related tax reporting as required by law.
7. Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match charitable donations made by their employees. Donors who wish to seek a matching gift should:
- Make a donation to F.A.C.T. through F.A.C.T.'s approved donation method;
- Check with their employer's human resources department, benefits portal, or matching-gift administrator;
- Submit F.A.C.T.'s information as requested by the employer; and
- Provide any required donation receipt or verification.
Employer matching gifts are subject to the employer's policies, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and approval process. F.A.C.T. cannot guarantee that an employer will approve or match a donation.
Matching-gift funds are treated as donations to F.A.C.T. when received and may be used in accordance with the employer's restrictions, the donor's intent, applicable law, and F.A.C.T.'s charitable purpose.
8. Donor Privacy
F.A.C.T. respects donor privacy. Donor information may be collected and used to:
- Process and verify donations;
- Issue receipts and acknowledgments;
- Communicate with donors about donations, matching gifts, or F.A.C.T. programs;
- Maintain financial, tax, and charitable records;
- Prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions;
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and
- Administer F.A.C.T.'s charitable activities.
Online payments are processed through Stripe. Payment information may be handled by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's terms and privacy practices. F.A.C.T. does not intend to retain complete payment-card information beyond what is reasonably necessary for transaction records and administration.
F.A.C.T. does not sell or rent donor information. F.A.C.T. may share necessary information with payment processors, financial institutions, service providers, matching-gift administrators, professional advisers, government authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to process a donation, issue a receipt, administer programs, protect the organization, or comply with law.
Donors may contact F.A.C.T. at info@factscholarship.org with questions about donor information or to request correction of inaccurate contact information.
9. Unauthorized or Fraudulent Transactions
If a donor believes that a donation was made without authorization or that a payment was processed fraudulently, the donor should promptly contact F.A.C.T. at info@factscholarship.org and the applicable payment provider or financial institution.
F.A.C.T. may suspend, investigate, reverse, or refund transactions that appear to be unauthorized, fraudulent, duplicative, or otherwise invalid.
10. Policy Changes
F.A.C.T. may update this Donation and Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its programs, payment-processing practices, legal requirements, or charitable operations. The updated policy will be posted with a revised "Last Updated" date.
